Slovak violist Šimon Truszka is one of the leading European performers of his generation and, since 2023, a member of the Pavel Haas Quartet — ranked among the ten greatest string quartets of all time by BBC Music Magazine.
He performs on the world's foremost stages: Carnegie Hall, Wigmore Hall, Philharmonie de Paris, Concertgebouw, Musikverein Vienna, and Elbphilharmonie Hamburg. His recording of Bohuslav Martinů's string quartets with the quartet (2025) earned four major international awards — the Diapason d'Or, ICMA 2026, and Album of the Year from both Presto Music and The Classic Review.
A sought-after chamber partner, he has collaborated with Boris Giltburg, Kian Soltani, and Anastasia Kobekina, and performed under conductors including Sir Simon Rattle, Bernard Haitink, and Gianandrea Noseda.
